Meet Lesley Esquivel

Lesley attended The University of Texas at San Antonio and earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Psychology and Sociology, and a Master of Arts in Counseling. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2013.

Lesley is a supportive, empathic, and empowering therapist who takes a non-judgmental, down-to-earth approach. She strives to create a calming therapeutic space that helps her clients feel safe, comfortable, validated, empowered, and heard.

Her primary areas of focus are helping clients cope with and manage anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions/adjustments, daily life stressors, issues in relationships, and grief and loss of loved ones or of their beloved pets. She has a special passion for helping clients cope with the bereavement of their beloved pets and understands the strong and special bonds of pet-person relationships. She has additional training in Pet Loss Grief Counseling and comes from a place of personal experience and understanding in this unique and often misunderstood nature of loss.

Lesley is also passionate about helping clients improve self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-care with a focus on relaxation and managing stress. She is skilled at collaborating with her clients on identifying therapeutic goals, exploring their inner strengths and bringing these to the forefront, as well as helping clients establish healthy coping skills and effective means of communicating with others for healthier relationships.

Lesley works with adults ages 18 years and older. She offers afternoon/evening appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Meet Jalen Evans

Jalen has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2019. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and is certified in Animal Assisted Counseling (AAC).

Jalen understands how we may find ourselves stuck in negative or unhelpful thinking cycles and behavioral patterns. She believes that systems around us (family, friends, society, work) impact us and shape how we perceive the world. Jalen will help her clients explore the ways in which multigenerational trauma and racial trauma are connected to present-day depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. She is passionate about helping people feel affirmed and understood through their life experiences. Her goal is to support clients in reaching their optimal mental and emotional wellbeing.

Jalen offers a safe and non-judgmental approach to working with clients. She utilizes a cognitive behavioral framework to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use. She has extensive experience working with at-risk youth and their families. She would be a great fit for parents looking for parenting support.

Jalen works with adults ages 18 years and older. She offers evening appointments Monday through Thursday and morning/early afternoon appointments on the weekends.
